History

The Fifa Ballon d'Or award is honours for the male soccer player deemed to have performed the best over the previous year, based on voting by football journalists. This is the biggest award for a football year in the world. The winner of FIFA Ballon d’Or is name as the best player of year for the world.

The Ballon d'Or (French pronunciation: ​[balɔ̃ dɔʁ]; "Golden Ball"), is an annual association football award presented by France Football. It has been awarded since 1956, although between 2010 and 2015, an agreement was made with FIFA and the award was temporarily merged with the FIFA World Player of the Year, and known as the FIFA Ballon d'Or, but the partnership was ended in 2016 and the award been reversed back to Ballon d'Or while FIFA also renamed its traditional award.

How much is a football player paid for winning the Ballon D'or?

Normal a player doesn't get paid for winning the Ballon d'OR award.
What a player does get is global recognition and an increase in reputation which may result in an increase in said player's market value thus giving him leverage for a better contract either at a new club or his current team.

Winning the Ballon d'OR is simply about the award's allure. A lot of players don't care about it these days, though, as it's more about effective marketing than anything else.
